Yes, yes . . . I changed the name of my blog. Again. I hope this one sticks. Maybe the blog evolves. Maybe it’s me. But all of a sudden I realize I have to change this name! I really thought hard about it this time. There are so many things to consider:
- Is the name already taken?
- Does it say something about me?
- Does it fit with a tag line I like and is meaningful?
- Does it give you an idea about what you might read here?
- Is it clever?
Oh yeah. And . . .
- Is it spelled correctly?
Did you ever notice that about WholeyJeans? I was so caught up in all the other points, that I spelled the word Wholly wrong. I also used it for the URL and now I’m stuck with it. I’m a pretty good speller, only relying on spell-check for a few words that trip me up. It really irks me every time I see it.
So I thought . . . alternative . . . there’s a word I can spell. And the new name was born. Or something like that.
What do you think?
Peace . . .
Jean, I never thought you spelled “wholly” wrong…I thought you just spelled it that way because the other name was taken…don’t be so hard on yourself!
Dang, I SOOO could have gone with that. I’m liking my new name, though. Also, you are not the first person to tell me I am too hard on myself. It’s a common theme, and one I should listen to, methinks!
I never really thought about it, really. I like the new name, though.
It kind of says it, you know? I mean, it’s all about making the best of this one life we have. What are you going to do? You could complain, but hey . . . it beats the alternative. And I say that in my daily life, often. Some may think it’s negative, but I think it’s a good reminder.
Thanks!
Jean I like the new name, seems I’m not the only one who felt the need for a new online identity to match who I had evolved into. Not long ago I remembered you said you were going to explain your URL I thought I had missed it and tried to find it. I thought there was this deep and interesting story to go with Wholey Jeans. So today you brought a chuckle to my hectic morning. 😊
I’m sorry I had you on a wild goose chase. I always meant to explain it, but it was kind of embarrassing, so I would have had to be in the right mood! I love your new name, and it definitely was egging me on to do the same.
Oh so now you are blaming me? 🙂 Seriously, if my new name helped you to come to a decision and direction that felt more comfortable to you I’m glad. No apologies needed, I was curious is all.
You definitely were a reminder to me that I wanted to change it. And your new name just describes your blog so well. I was like, “Why can’t I come up with something that good?” 😀 I’m thinking I really like the new name, even it it isn’t as descriptive as yours. It makes me smile. The last two didn’t. I won’t blame you for that. I will blame you for the guilt I feel every time I throw something out, or pass a neighbors trash that looks like something that could be turned into something useful. For that you are entirely responsible.
I liked your last blog name too. I guess if I have to be blamed for something then saving items from trash that are still useful is one I’ll accept gladly. 😉
I like all the titles you have come up with. I need a new one too. Heading into 3 full years of blogging and looking for direction. Taking the blogging 101 class hoping to be inspired. Running out of titles to be in search of. I was seriously brain damaged when I started. Really. Bells took most of my words and I’m slowly getting them back. That’s why I have to write and keep using as many as possible. It’s like physical therapy for the brain. 🙂 I like the banner too. Very peaceful feeling. It really doesn’t matter what you call your blog to me. I like what you have to say.
I’ve always liked your name, and (!) I always wondered how you can find all those things to be in search of, and if you would ever run out! Haha! If you change your name, I will be excited to find out what it is. So we’re classmates, eh? I hope our lockers are near each other.
Cool. Now I know from whom to ask the answers. I’m shooting in the dark here.
That works. I like it. I’ve been ruminating on mine for the last little while as well.
I like yours. I like the story about it, too!
In fact, the name of your blog was one of those that made me think, “Dang, I wish I would have thought of that one!”
