The List: Best Hair Growth Vitamins, According to the Pros

1. Nutrafol

According to Prevention, “This uses highly concentrated botanicals to address every stage of the growth cycle, such as vitamin E, ashwagandha (a type of herb), anti-inflammatory biocurcumin, and others. It has excellent clinical studies to support its efficacy. One peer-reviewed study published in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, found that women who said their hair was thinning reported improved growth and thickness after six months. The researchers also found an increase in hair density after three months.”

Harper’s BAZAAR says this isn’t just another fish in the sea: “In a sea of powders, gummies, pills, and shots promising thicker and fuller hair, Nutrafol is one of the few hair growth products that actually delivers results. Be patient: results can take three to six months — and you’ll need to keep taking it. It works by fighting off inflammation and free radicals that impair follicle function. Vitamin E, keratin, marine-based collagen, and hyaluronic acid speed up growth, promote absorption of hair-boosting nutrients, and add oomph.”

Marie Claire consulted a physician who says, “‘Nutrafol supplements target key factors of thinning hair such as nutrition, stress and lifestyle with natural, medical grade ingredients,’ says Dr. Nichols. ‘This clinically effective supplement improves hair growth and visible thickness.’”

2. Hum Nutrition Hair Sweet Hair

Forbes recommends this supplement from Hum: “Hum Nutrition’s Hair Sweet Hair is a line of vegan gummies designed to make hair stronger and healthier, which encourages growth. Dr. Green recommends these gummies since they contain biotin, folic acid, vitamin B12 and zinc to prevent hair loss.”

Comments

  1. Have any of the five formulations been proved to work in peer reviewed randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled studies? Through the years I’ve found that articles similar to this one entirely overlook that critical question.

  2. What they NEVER MENTION is Hair loss in women is related to hormones. Get a hormone and blood panel to see what hormones you may be deficit in or have too much of. Vitamin D also help Hair growth and helps with hormonal issues.

    I should know I’m hypothyroid.

    May God Bless you
